Take Action. Change the World!

A powerful voice can help others hear the needs of the world!
Strength and determination can bring lasting change to the world!

Every citizen of the world is able to make a difference, and World Vision Malaysia is looking for a select few to become our 30-Hour Famine Advocates!

Indeed, no matter your gender, identity or background, we are all global citizens! Each of us has the responsibility to care about what is happening around us, listen to vulnerable voices from all over the world, and respond to the needs we see with practical action.

World Vision Malaysia is calling on young global citizens with strong ideals and the courage to speak out to be a part of the 30-Hour Famine campaign! Through our influential 30-Hour Famine Advocates, we hope to help young people gain awareness on issues affecting the world and inspire them to transform it together!

Take on the challenge and move ahead!

If you are positive, optimistic, and caring, we welcome you to sign on as a 2020 30-Hour Famine Advocate! You will have the opportunity to speak up for the most vulnerable and help them achieve a more hopeful future.

Being a 30-Hour Famine Advocate is a one-year-long journey and learning experience. As a Famine Advocate, you will have the opportunity to participate in a one-week Study Tour to Vietnam with World Vision Malaysia. There you will witness World Vision's work firsthand and learn how it helps vulnerable communities build their capacity and improve their lives. After this meaningful trip, you will begin your role as Famine Advocate, raising awareness and using your influence to encourage others to fight back against poverty.

A hero for children in need? That could be you!

As long as you take that brave first step, you could be a capable and confident hero for children and families in need!

To become a 30-Hour Famine Advocate, you need to:

  • Have participated in at least one instalment of the 30-Hour Famine and be between the ages of 18 and 35.
  • Support humanitarian efforts and care about global issues affecting poor communities.
  • Possess leadership skills.
  • Possess good moral values.
  • Believe in justice and be willing to contribute your time and energy.
  • Be a keen learner and practice humility.
  • Be comfortable with public speaking, and an effective writer (English or Mandarin, or both).
  • Participate in a World Vision Study Tour to Vietnam from 16 to 22 December 2019.
